CERAMIC ART CENTRE      Come Play in the Mud with Us... EVENING CLASSES 6:00pm - 8:00pm Hand Building: Level One Registration Fee: $105.00 at Rotary Centre for the arts. Supplies Fee: $125.00 + HST, payable to Potters Addict. Minimum Limit is four students. Students will explore the basic methods of clay forming. Slab and coil construction methods, surface decoration and glazing techniques will be developed. We will be making a variety of bowls, plates and containers. All classes are designed for the student to have a creative and enjoyable learning experience. Start Dates: Wednesdays September 15 - October 20 October 27 - November 24 December 1 - December 29 Supplies include clay, studio glazes, two firings, tools, equipment and studio time. Pottery Wheel Techniques: Level One Registration Fee: $105.00 at Rotary Centre for the arts. Supplies Fee: $125.00 + HST, payable to Potters Addict. Minimum Limit: 4 students,   Maximum Class size: 6 students Students will learn to throw a variety of shapes such as the cylinder, bowl, and vase. Glazing will take place on the last day. Be prepared to have fun and get down and dirty. Start Dates: Tuesdays(one Thursday session) September 21 - October 19 Thursdays, September 23 - October 21 October 26- November 23 November 30 - December 28 Supplies include clay, studio glazes, two firings.   Big Pots Intermediate to advanced potters only. Limit: 4 potters. Registration: Potters Addict, 250-763-1875 Fee $225.00, Supplies $80.00+HST - payable to Potters Addict In this five week course, students learn the ancient method of coil making and hand building, combining the two techniques. Students will make a large vessel. Glazing and decorating on the last two weeks of the course. Instructor: Bonnie Anderson Dates: TBA - call 250-763-1875.   Glaze, Slip and Other Decorative Techniques Registration: Potters Addict, 250-763-1875 Fee $225.00, Supplies $25.00+HST - payable to Potters Addict Students will learn about advanced decorating and glazing techniques. Over and under glazing, china paint, lustres and gold applications will be explored. Students should have a supply of 10 bisque-fired pieces for the course. Instructor: Bonnie Anderson Dates: Mondays, November 16 - December 14 Critique: December 23   ADULT DAYTIME CLASSES Level Three Hand Building and Pottery Wheel Combination: Registration at Potters Addict: 250-763-1875 Fee: $230.00 This course accommodates a variety of skill levels, but beginners must have taken level one hand building or pottery wheel techniques. Returning students are challenged with more advanced projects which will include hand construction on wheel thrown pots and more advanced glaze techniques. Start times: Mondays or Thursdays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm   CHILDREN'S CLASSES Call 250-763-1875 to register. Get Ready for Hallowe'en, ages 7-12 Level two: children must have previous clay and art experience. Friday October 1 to 29 at 3:30-5:00 Five educational and creative days of fun that end with a show and party.    Children will learn new concepts of handmade pottery and sculpture, making bowls, masks, pinch pot pumpkin candle holders, containers mud monsters and more, glazing and decorative techniques are on Thursday. Art projects include: Printmaking techniques: drawings and rubbings. Marbling techniques using solvent based oils. Original hand painted and marbled art card techniques. Acrylic painting and water media on water colour paper. Plus a variety of other fun and creative arts and crafts. Fees: $120.00 plus HST Christmas Holidays: ages 7-13 Level One: Monday to Friday, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm Level Two: Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm Children will learn the basic concepts of handmade pottery, sculpture and decorating techniques then go on to make fun loving art works . Fees: $174.00 plus HST Ask about our Saturday afternoon mud classes. Cancellation Fee: $50.00 Bring your classroom to our pottery studio. Children will make two unique clay projects using hand building techniques. These projects keep all of the children actively involved. Class time takes 2 hours. Leave the glazing to us and you will be called when everything has been fired.   BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR CHILDREN Registration: call Potters Addict, 250-763-1875 Fees (HST not included): 7 children of fewer: $155.00, flat rate 8 children or more: $19.95 per person Children make their own unique bowls, masks or mud monsters. The hand building class is 1-1/2 hours and the glazing class is 1/2 hour for a total of 2 hours of fun.   THE POTTERS CLUB For only $75.00 per month you receive a key to our facility, a cupboard for your work and tools, work space and use of all of the pottery equipment. Join our group of inspiring potters and clay artists. We also offer one-on-one classes at $60.00 per person per hour plus clay. We can supply clay, pottery tools and firings.
